E-passport

There are two types of passports, the normal passport and the e-passport. The difference between is that with the normal passports is utilized globally, every country has it but with the e-passport, only some countries are allowed to possess. These two passports serve the same purpose but in different ways.

*Differences between the E-passport and the normal passport:
When you are traveling with the normal passport, the airline attendants will perform a passport number search to ensure that you are the right full owner of the passport. With an e-passport, due to the fact that it is biometric, they do not have to do a passport search to identify you they can use your thumb prints, or even scan your eyes as a way of identifying you.

*Advantages of E-passport:
-Data security is the main advantage of biometric passports, which reduces the risk of theft, forgery and embezzlement.

-Its validity can range from 3 to 10 years, under the laws in force in the country of issue. After it expires, it is possible to extend one or more times under the law.

-E-passports are preferable because they are a safeguard against people, who are out to steal your identity.The security e-passport provides to its so thick in that it is highly unlikely for one to penetrate and try and make an exact replica of your passport.


*Disadvantages:
The only disadvantage with e-passport is that it is offered in a few countries so not everyone benefits from their finesse.


*Conclusion about biometric passport
The biometric passport is a valuable personal document to request a visa from embassies and consulates.
The use of optical scanner with biometric software reader at airports reduces the time identification of the wearer and enhance the authentication of the passenger.
Do not wait until the last minute to apply for biometric your passport.
Avoid holiday periods for emergency passport applications, rather make your application several months before the trip.

 A wide range of biometric sensors & detectors are available to consumers for security and access control management. Biometrics refers to methods for recognizing individual people based on unique physical and behavioral traits. Physiological biometrics is one class of biometrics that deals with physical characteristics and attributes that are unique to individuals.


*Uses:
Biometric sensors/detectors are useful in several industries as well as consumers who can put them to use in access control and identity access management and information technology applications. Sensors and detectors are semiconductors (meaning its electric conductivity is in between a conductor and an insulator) which use algorithms to process images from the user's physical characteristics. 

*How do they work?
Biometric sensors work by producing electrical currents when they scan a user's physical characteristic. Many physical characteristics may be scanned by a biometric sensor including eyes, fingerprints, or DNA. Sensors contain an analog to digital converter enabling it to digitize the image and store the digital information in memory so that it can verify the user next time he or she needs to authenticate their identity.

Bluetooth Device (HomeWork -2)

Bluetooth is defined as being a short-range radio technology (or wireless technology) aimed at simplifying communications among Internet devices and between devices and the Internet. It also aims to simplify data synchronization between Internet devices and other computers.

About it:

1-Internet: Bluetooth is not recommended for establishing Internet connections because of its limited transfer rate.
2-Free Access: Accessing a Bluetooth device doesn't cost money; all you need is the Bluetooth capability.
3-Control: Unless a device is already paired to your device, you have the option to accept or reject the connection and file transfer.

Portable entertainment devices (HomeWork -1)

MP3 Player:

*Advantages:

-Mp3 players are smaller than a CD player so it fits in you pocket.
-You can put any music there instead of buying cassettes!
-10 times more songs can go on a MP3 player.

-you can download movies and watch them in the MP3.

*Disadvantages:

-The headphones quality might not be good!

-It might damage your ears because of loud songs.

-The screen is small and the movie wont be clear.

-You might run out of battery.


                                            Portable video player:
*Advantages:
-It can be carried anywhere.
-They use batteries, so you can keep watching a movie even if there's no electricity in your house.

*Disadvantages:
-The screen is small.
-Limited storage capacity.
  -You might run out of battery.

Mobile Phones (Classwork -1)

Mobile Phones are really important these days, as they have many uses, like: communication, playing games, photographing, listening to music, and many more.

And there are many advantages for mobile phones, such as:
*if you are lost, you can call for directions.
*Phones have internet connection and you can check your emails.
*Employees can keep in touch at all times.
*keep in touch with friends and family.
*good for emergencies.


And the Disadvantages are:
*mobile phones can be expensive.
*they can damage your ear.
*sometimes the reception is poor in some areas, limiting your connectivity.
*people use the phone while they are driving, and this can cause problems
*It causes damages to the brain if you are keeping it near from you while sleeping.
